Pretty good for what it is. Although the amount of knife and gun psycho movies on the web by young filmmakers is getting ridiculous.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I suggested the same thing to mobnauzea - if you're shooting a short MOS - it's a great opportunity to shoot super 8. I say that because everyone is always asking things like "how do I make my video look like film?" and for a short like this, it's not out of your reach. A simple super 8 camera is cheap on ebay. You don't need to synch it. And there are video transfer deals out there that are more affordable - you don't HAVE to use a rank.Quote:

Forgot to add - I think you did a good job on the sound design.
It took me 2 hours to download, and here's the verdict...
I liked it, but I thought it went on too long in the beginning. I thought the flashbacks were pretty cool, the sound design is exellent (Way better then my attempts, as those who've heard the FX on Twatting Zombies will testify [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) and it's very well shot.
If the whole the Killer's out there/I am perturbed/I have to go and get onions/the killer gets into the house sequences could be pared down, I think it could be better [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]
Also, disappointed my radio report didn't make the final cut. But I can't blame ya [img]wink.gif[/img]
I seen some, skipped some parts because I had to go. It was allright. Pretty generic in every way and I got tired of the some parts where everything seemed to be made out of close ups. The whole killers POV is getting old too. And it could be a few minutes shorter for my taste.
Other than that it was quite good, and did what it was supposed to do, so I guess you've succeeded.

I liked most of it.
I didn't like the POV but I suppose there was no way around it.
I didn't like the heart beat on the POV a bit clich? imo, thought something more original could have been thought of.
Didn't like the jump cutting (dunno the real technical term for it) but I didn't think there was enough difference in the shots to make it effective. (e.g at the start, cutting the meat)
Also didn't like that magnetic sort of whir in the sound design.. it also is a bit typical and increased my headache [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Good bits...
Really liked some of the shots, liked the tupperware one, liked most of the flash backs, liked the twist. Liked the look, and some of the sound design, i.e the music box.. didn't really like the vinyl scratch at the end.
Anyway, hope you don't hate me for some honest criticism there, but overall I liked it!

Just watched it, and it's not too bad. As everyone else has noted, good sound design though the footsteps around the house are a tad too loud for my ears.
I do think it could be tightened up a bit and I came very close to switching off at around the half-way mark when nothing had really happened still. Some of the exposition at the start wasn't really necessary, and the beginning of the radio news could have played straight over the title or some of it.
The stabbing under the stairs lost its power for me after about the second thrust then it just became dull and hackneyed.
I totally didn't get "They are just the start" and perhaps rather than digging a hole in the back garden the guy should've been eating "chilli" and chips or something to reinforce why you would bother showing someone cutting and freezing meat on the opening scene.
I quite liked the flashbacks and sound design, and it didn't bother me that it was this young chap rattling around alone in this house. I do not connect him with being "Daddy" however, more like "Brother".
The plot was pretty obvious for something that meandered for so long, that's why I think it should be shorter.
